Top Five Tuesday
Hi. My name is Abhi. It's summer break and many of us have a lot of spare time on our hands. One thing to do kill time is to listen to music. Listening to music is a religious experience--its just amazing
I bet all of you have a favorite playlist or album that you listen to. My favorite song, playlists, and albums changes all the time. Here is my top 5 list of most listened to songs as of this week.
1. Dear John
2. Red (Taylor's Version)
Red (Taylor's Version), track 2 off the one and only amazing Red TV album from November 2021. It's such an upbeat song with so sad lyrics, but it is a religious experience when you blast it in the car. Like I was literally belting the lyric "Burning it was reddddd," in the car yesterday and it was amazing. Also, did you know taylor swift invented colors 😜?3. All Too Well (Taylor's Version)
All Too Well, track 5, or a song of depression in Taylor Swift albums, is one of the greatest songs ever penned and sung by Taylor. But, this week clearly my mood had been pretty down so I've been listening to sadder songs -_-. The part in the bridge where she yells "YOU CALLED ME UP AGAIN JUST TO BREAK ME LIKE A PROMISE," is just too iconic to skip over. This song is a masterpiece, and it describes break-up like nothing.
4. enough for you
This is one of the best songs written and sung by Olivia Rodrigo. This song is off her debut album, SOUR, and it's written COMPLETELY by herself. The song really describes how toxic relationships are. And I can relate to it, as I'm someone who has a lot of insecurities, I sometimes feel the wish to change myself for someone else, which isn't correct. The emotion is so raw and pure, and I have no words to describe it.
5. tolerate it
As this week has been a bit of sad week, with school ending, missing my friends, and feeling more like an idiotic freak than a student, tolerate it has come in handy. The song has an unusual structure and timing. But the lyrics are so good, and it is a track 5 (the saddest song on a ts album) so like a sad kid like me wouldn't want anything more. Also, I love the lyrics where she says, "take this DAGGER in me and removed it, "because it shows how people can and will heal.
Anyways, this was my top 5 for this week. what are your top 5 songs of this week? Let me know.
